I go to the Fishing Boat every Friday and I sit inside their restaurant to have cod and chips. The seating area is impeccably clean and is decorated with a cheerful sea-side theme. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you. Excellent customer service. Very efficient and well run. They have a very good wide menu choice. All of their meals are cooked fresh to order. Their cod and chips are cooked to perfection, and served piping hot just how I like it. You deserve to have an award. I would definitely recommend.

Really nice fish and chips here, plus the added opportunity to eat in - which we did. No difference in price, all served on plates with proper cutlery. Nice choice to have. Chips are perfect. Cod bites and scampi are delicious, chicken and mushroom pie is a favourite, very tasty.

I had a fantastic portion of fish and chips last night with mushy peas. The fish (normal size, not large) was excellent, the chips were crispy and fresh and the mushy peas were perfect. Price was good, service is great, parking straight outside the door, I will be returning very soon! Thank you so much!

Ive never tasted such lovely chips anywhere else. Absolutely lovely. Not greasy like some places. . They deserve to have an award. Prices were good too. Staff very helpful

We went as a group of Explorer Scouts and sampled chips from several local chip shops. The Fishing Boat was excellent. The staff were kind and friendly - and even chatted to us about the rest of our “chip hike” - and the chips were good. We would recommend it here; it is one of the best chip shops in the area!

I have been using the Fishing Boat for several years. I have always found them very helpful & respectful. I am a wheelchair user & they have always helped & taken that into consideration. The food is superb & the only other chip shop I've used in Bruce's (their sister company). Russ.
